HEY KEYSTONERS -- IT'S PICNIC TIME AGAIN!!!

Happy Region Birthday, all you Keystoners!!  Summer is (almost) here, and in June of each year, we celebrate the birthday of the Keystone Region.  So, come on out on Saturday, June 7th, to celebrate the establishment of Keystone Region as an officially chartered PCA region back in June 1997.  Here are some specifics:

-- Keystone Region summer picnic and rallye.
-- Location:  Bald Eagle State Park (and environs).
-- When:  Saturday, 7 June 2008, Noon till 5PM (more or less)

Details:  We'll gather together between 11:30 and 12:30 at Pavilion #5 in Bald Eagle State Park.  (Same pavilion as last year's picnic.  Bald Eagle Park is about 3 miles east of Howard along Pa. Rte. 150, between Howard and Beech Creek.  The park is relatively convenient to all our membership, from Williamsport to Altoona and from Wellsboro to Lewistown.  After entering the park, look for the sign to turn left toward Pavilion #5.  We'll have a short drivers' meeting and start the Keystone Rallye, with first car out at 1:01 PM.

Rallye:  Rallying is F-U-N, even if you've never done it before. This is a no-prior-experience rallye, meandering through some interesting parts of Clinton and Centre Counties.  All you'll need is good eyes and something to write with.  (A clipboard or book to write on is also a good idea.)  The rallye will start and end up at Pavilion #5, where we'll total up the scores and award fabulous and highly coveted prizes.  If your P-car is ailing or afraid of public highways, not to worry -- feel free to bring the M-B, Bimmer, Ford Pinto, AMC Gremlin, or whatever else also occupies your garage.  And, as we proved last year, Porsches don't shrink or fade away in a temporary rainstorm....

Picnic:  Our picnic lunch will be catered by the world-famous (...... OK, Centre County-famous) Clem's Bar-B-Q in Port Matilda.  We'll have delicious ribs, chicken, potato salad, beans, cole slaw, etc., with all the trimmings.  Please bring along your own cooler chest with some cool beverages for yourselves and a few extras (remembering all the while that we'll be in a state park).  The only cost involved will be $12.00 per person for the food.  (Kid navigators under 12 eat free.).

For food planning, an RSVP is a must!  Please RSVP to Bill Simon at 814.235.1356 (yes.... "one 356") or email to billiii@psu.edu.  Also, to confirm your reservation (and to pay for the BBQ), send a check payable to Keystone Region PCA to Bill at:  880 West Aaron Drive, State College, Pa.  16803-3119.  Please RSVP not later than May 30th.

AccuWeather promises that the weather on 7 June will be beautiful, so RSVP now to help us celebrate another year as a chartered PCA region.  And, .... if you've never rallyed before, don't worry.  This will be a very low-key event -- no tricks, no traps, no evil rallymaster.   Just a fun drive around some of the lovely countryside.  (In the event of some rain, remember that (1) Porsches operate just fine on wet roads, and (2) Pavilion #5 has a roof.  So, come on out and enjoy the fun and the BBQ).
